FAQ's
Q. How much room do you need ? A. We are a five piece band and need an area approximately 4m deep by 5 m wide.
Q. How long can you play for ? A. We have enough material to do three 45 minute sets.
Q. How loud are you ? A. We are as loud or quiet as you need us to be. Our PA system is rated at a maximum 800 watt, so we can play a large open space or as we are used to practising with a noise meter, can play a small back room bar on a housing estate. We also have the facility to set a maximum decibel level via our own noise meter.
Q. How long does it take you to set up at the start and break down the equipment at the end of a gig. A. Including a sound check, it will take two hours for us to set up and one and a half hours to break down and pack away.
Q. What type of electrical socket provision do you need ? A. We need a minimum of 5 x 13 amp switched, three pin electrical sockets. Access to these should preferably not be by trailing leads across areas where the patrons walk.
Q. What type of equipment do you use ? A. We have a four speaker PA system (2 x 12" and 2 X 15" speaker cabs), powered mixer / amplifier desk, a slave amplifier, two stage lighting rigs, back drop, three guitar amplifiers and an amplifier for the harmonica.
Q. How far will you travel ? A. Generally we will be happy to travel up to 2 hours from our practise base, which is Stevenage.
Q. What area of the UK will you gig in ? A. Generally we restrict our travelling to within Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Leicestershire, Norfolk, Northamptonshire, North London and Suffolk.
Q. You say you will do gigs for charity, please explain ? A. The band have agreed that we wish to support charitable causes. We are therefore happy to play for your charity function be it a musical evening, garden party, fete or other fund raising activity. For any such event, all we ask is that you reimburse us our travel costs and feed and water us.
Q. Will you play at festivals ? A. Yes, provided that the festival is rhythm and blues based and whose aim is to support the UK blues scene.
Q. What support do you give to a venue ? A. We will provide up to 12 x A4 posters, up to 40 x A5 flyers, advertising on various web sites and where possible in local newspapers and magazines, confirmation telephone calls for the initial booking and one week before the gig. If required, we can also provide a formal contract.
